Rush Hour

I have been spending my days watching the World Cup (Spain passed to the semi-finals- hurrah! and Argentina and Brazil are on their way home), climbing and mountaineering, and….putzing around. Actually, I’ve been working, too. Every week I’m on the air with my radio show, RMC Unlimited, I’m preparing my new compilation (number 10), and I’m editing a lot of videos that Ezio and I have been filming in the mountains. However, what I should be doing is finding a literary agent for my first two novels and thinking about writing my third novel. I have been very lazy in that sense. Finding an agent is very tedious, no, let me correct that; what is tedious is preparing a synopsis of my work. That is the first step and I just can’t seem to get on it. Writing my new novel will be exciting, as writing always is….so why don’t I begin? Because once you start, you have to write every single day until you finish. There is no other way to write a decent novel, as far as I am concerned. You get on a roll that you can’t get off until the job is completed. I’m just waiting for the green light.

It snowed here in Chamonix, which I am very pleased about. It was a bit too hot, too early in the season for my taste. I really would like to go skiing however, I think I have been getting obsessed with it lately because my goal is to ski off-piste well enough to ski down the Vallèe Blanche. If I can manage to do that, than I can spend more time up there ice-climbing, rock-climbing and just enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings. Until then, as you have read in a past post, I am suffering.

So on to what I initially intended to blog about. I am going to Milan this week for four special occasions. First, I have an appointment with the owner of RMC because he plans on opening a satellite TV channel and would like my assistance and involvement. Although I have done a lot of television, it’s not my favorite media except when I have creative control, as it would be in this case so I am interested in hearing what he has to say. Then, I am going to see the editor of my new novel, A Winter Love Story and to give a pep talk to the people who have go out there and sell the book before it comes out. I am not so good at blowing my own horn however, if I want to motivate them, I’m going to have to learn quickly! Thursday, as you know, I am presenting my new compilation at the five-star Hotel Boscolo, champagne offered by Mumm. It’s going to be great! Friday night, I’m deejaying at a super event for Berloni furniture’s 50th anniversary (did I tell you it’s international Salone del Mobile week? – The international furniture fair. Very cool, indeed.) So, it will be exhausting but fun. I’ll be back Saturday with some pix to post and perhaps some video coverage.

Next Thursday, April 15th, I will be presenting my new compilation, Kay Rush Presents Unlimited IX at 5-star Hotel Boscolo in Corso Matteotti, Milan, Italy. If you’re in the neighborhood, you are most welcome to come. It’s an interesting week to be in Milan as it is the week of the Salone Internationazione del Mobile (furniture and design week – Milan is the capital!) and there are two wonderful art exhibitions to see at the Royal Palace, Francisco Goya and Egon Schiele.
